The PRM2142X from Peraso is a mmWave RF Module that operates from 57 to 71 GHz. It has a 32-element vertically polarized antenna array and utilizes the Peraso X720 802.11ad phased array chipset which includes a baseband processor and a high-power mmWave beamforming transceiver RFIC. The module uses Peraso’s Directional Beam Scan and Connect (DBSC) technologies for establishing long-range Fixed Wireless links and the Peraso STA Focus for long-range Fixed Wireless Access point-to-multipoint systems. The module has a scan range of ±45° for azimuth and elevation.
The PRM2142X supports 2.16 GHz and 1.08 GHz channel bandwidths and delivers a data rate of more than 2 Gbps. It uses 16 high-power RF chains and has multi-user support up to 32 STA. It supports pi/2-BPSK and pi/2-QPSK modulation schemes. This module includes security features such as AES 128-bit data encryption and WPA3 authentication. It requires a DC supply of 5 V and consumes 13 W (Tx) & 5 W (Rx) of power. The module can be controlled via USB 3.0, 2.5 V CMOS 1PPS Sync, and GPIO interfaces. It is available in a package that measures 50 x 50 mm and is ideal for point-to-multipoint Fixed Wireless Access networks and point-to-point backhaul/fiber alternative applications. It provides a complete USB 3.0 to 802.11ad solution with advanced features for long-range, outdoor applications.
