The FG160-NA from Fibocom is a Sub-6 GHz 5G-NR Module that features 3GPP Release 16 capabilities and is designed to offer backward compatibility with LTE/WCDMA network standards. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 modem chipset. This sub-6 GHz module uses 5G-NR Carrier Aggregation (CA) to significantly optimize the 5G user experience with extended coverage, boosted throughput, and increased capacity. It provides an uplink rate of up to 900 Mbps and a maximum downlink rate of 3.5 Gbps for 5G Applications. The module requires a DC supply voltage of 3.8 V.
The FG160-NA supports OpenCPU that simplifies the hardware design, enables WiFi-6E, and optimizes both the cost-performance and power consumption. With OpenCPU, this module can be developed into an ideal FWA solution, enabling 160 MHz bandwidth, 4096 QAM as well as Wi-Fi 6E. It consists of multiple internet protocols and industry-standard interfaces and can be used with a variety of cellular terminals such as CPE, STB, IPC, and ODU. This module includes a GNSS receiver that serves applications requiring a fast and accurate positioning in any environment.
The module is available in an LGA package that measures 41.00 x 44.00 x 2.75 mm and is ideal for use in IoT applications.
