The 5G RG500U-EA from Quectel is a 5G Sub-6 GHz Module that is optimized for IoT and eMBB applications. It is based on 3GPP Release 15 and can provide worldwide 5G and LTE-A coverage. It supports both 5G NSA and SA modes which makes it backward compatible with 4G/3G networks. This module supports VoLTE (optional), VoNR (optional), DFOTA, audio, and eSIM (optional) to expand its applications in the IoT industry.
The 5G RG500U-EA delivers a downlink data rate of up to 2.6 Gbps and an uplink data rate of up to 1 Gbps. It can be controlled via PCIe Gen2, USB 2.0/3.0, SDIO, UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, and GPIO interfaces. The module requires a DC supply of 3.8 V and consumes less than 76 mA of current.
