The TacNet™ TACR-16DL from Collins Aerospace is a Link 16 Tactical Radio. This radio supports dual or single antenna transmit and receive, has three power modes (1 W, 50 W and 90 W) and a range of more than 200 nautical miles (370 Km). It is tested and qualified to NATO and Department of Defense requirements and ensures interoperability with MIDS and JTIDS (Link 16). The terminal is MIL-STD 810F and MIL-STD 461E compliant and provides critical network connectivity to platforms that traditionally have not had access to the network. It is ideal for size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) disadvantaged platforms, such as helicopters/vertical lifts, UAVs/UASs, pods, small maritime vessels, submarines, mobile ground units, small fighters, and training aircraft.
The TACR-16DL requires no cooling equipment, cooling air, or air filters and produces no noise. It has been selected for and integrated into various C-130s, helicopters, and transportable gateways including Collins FasTAK™ Gateway. This radio includes Ethernet 10/100 Base-T or 1553 Data Host Interfaces via common MIDS Platform A and Platform J ICDs. It is available in an enclosure that measures 16.76 x 12.60 x 14.12 cm and requires a DC supply from 22 to 32 V. The radio is designed for use in Unmanned Aerial Systems, Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), mobile and transportable ground stations, rotary wings, and small maritime platforms.
