The StarLite ER from Elbit Systems is a Long-Range Line-of-Sight (LOS) Digital Data Link for manned and unmanned aerial, naval, and land platforms. It is a multi-band communication solution that operates in the UHF, L, S, and C-band frequencies. This data link provides an output power of 19.9 W (~43 dBm) with a data rate of up to 12 Mbps over a range of 250 km. It supports full duplex (uplink and downlink) using time division duplexing (TDD) to transmit HD audio and video from several IP sources in the platform payload, while simultaneously receiving HD audio and video from the ground.
The StarLite ER utilizes advanced error correction techniques such as CTC-FEC in conjunction with antenna diversity techniques such as MRC to achieve reliable communication and excellent spatial coverage. It incorporates H.264 encoding/decoding that supports PAL/NTSC and HD-SDI and can work with two video sources at a time (two SD, or SD and HD). This datalink system offers robust security by supporting both AES-256 bit encryption and TRANSEC embedded frequency hopping capability (option available upon request). It integrates a dual-axis tracking system, single-axis tracking system, and omni-directional GDT/RVT, offering design flexibility to the user.
This datalink includes unique integration capabilities that enable the system to support existing and developing applications, and interconnect seamlessly with other systems of StarLite series. It is ideal for use in advanced line-of-sight (LoS) wireless links, MALE UAVs, USVs, mission helicopters, aircraft, and other long-range vehicular applications.
