The HA7063A from Holzworth is a Heterodyne Downconversion System that can accept an input RF signal from 10 MHz to 50 GHz. This system has been designed to seamlessly integrate with Holzworth's HA7062 series real-time phase noise analysis products as an ANSI z540 calibrated frequency extension. It downconverts the signal to DC to 40 MHz (with HA7062C) and DC to 100 MHz (with HA7062D).
The HA7063A provides for both absolute and residual (additive) measurements to 50 GHz, making it the only solution available on the market for taking accurate additive phase noise measurements at frequencies of greater than 18 GHz, without using external mixers. It has an amplitude range of -30 to +20 dBm and a noise floor of less than -195 dBc/Hz. This heterodyne device utilizes an analog architecture that is similar to the dual-channel design that is used in the Holzworth real-time phase noise analyzers with which it operates. This downconverter is available in a 1U chassis with connectors. One common GUI interface is used to simultaneously control both the HA7062 and the HA7063A.
