The ThinSat Talos from ThinKom is an Integrated Tri-Band Antenna/Terminal Subsystem that operates from 19.2 to 21.2 GHz (Rx, K-Band), 29.5 to 31.0 GHz (Tx, Ka-Band), and 43.5 to 45.5 GHz (Tx, Q-Band). This terminal has a selectable LHCP or RHCP polarization for K and Ka bands and fixed RHCP polarization for the Q-band. It provides a data rate of better than 2 Mbps (Tx/Rx) and has an EIRP of 47 dBW in the Q-Band at 20° elevation (with integrated 60 W BUC). The terminal has an azimuth coverage of 360° (continuous) and an elevation coverage from 15° to 85°. It provides high data rate satellite communications for the on-the-move tactical warfighter and is optimized for multi-vehicle platform compatibility (wheeled and track vehicles).
The ThinSat Talos is based on ThinKom's patented VICTS antenna technology and enables on-the-fly electronic switching between Ka and Q-Band operation. It is compliant with MIL-STD-188-164B and 47 CFR 25.138 standards and is capable of OTM operations for WGS, AEHF, GX, commercial Ka-Band, and future satellite constellations. This antenna/terminal subsystem is available in ultra-low-profile housing that measures 30 x 30 inches and less than 6 inches in height.
