The ADRF5519 from Analog Devices is a Dual-Channel Receiver Front End Module (FEM) that operates from 2.3 to 2.8 GHz. It is an integrated RF multichip module with a two-stage LNA and high-power SPDT switch on each channel. The FEM is designed for time division duplexing (TDD) in communication receivers.
The ADRF5519 can operate in various modes - In the high gain mode, it provides a gain of 35 dB at 2.6 GHz and has a noise figure of less than 1 dB. In the low gain mode, one stage of the two-stage LNA is in bypass and it provides 14 dB of gain. In power-down mode, the LNAs in the ADRF5519 are turned off and draw 12 mA of current. In the transmit operation, the SPDT switch can handle an average LTE power of 43 dBm (20 W) and has an insertion loss of 0.5 dB.
The FEM requires a supply voltage of 4.75-5.25 V and has an operating temperature range from -40 to 105°C. It is available in a 40-lead LFCSP package that measures 6 x 6 mm and is ideal for application in wireless infrastructure, TDD massive MIMO & active antenna systems, and other TDD-based communication systems.
