The QPF4550 from Qorvo is a Wi-Fi 6 Front End Module that operates from 5150 to 5925 MHz. It integrates a 5 GHz power amplifier (PA), single pole two throw switch (SP2T), and bypassable low noise amplifier (LNA) into a single device. The FEM has a compact form factor and integrated matching that minimizes layout area requirements in the application. The performance of the device is focused on optimizing the PA for a 5 V supply voltage that conserves power consumption while maintaining the highest linear output power and leading-edge throughput. On the Rx side it provides a gain of 13.5 dB, and has a noise figure of 2.1 dB.
The device also features integrated die level filtering for 2nd and 3rd harmonics as well as 30 dB 2.4 GHz signal rejection on the RF path for DBDC operation. This RoHS-compliant FEM is available in a 2.5 x 2.5 mm 16-pad laminate package and is ideally suited for access points, wireless routers, residential gateways, customer premise equipment, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
