The QPF7250 from Qorvo is a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 Front End Module (FEM). It has an integrated 2.4 GHz power amplifier (PA) with DC & RF power detectors, FCC edgeBoost BAW filter, transmit-receive switch (SP2T), and bypassable low noise amplifier (LNA). This FEM has the advantages of active components because of edgeBoost filter technology and a receive path that matches the optimal technologies to maximize Rx sensitivity through noise figure performance that is consistent over a wider variety of conditions. In Tx mode, it provides a gain of 35 dB while in Rx mode, it provides a gain of 15.5 dB, has a noise figure of 2.6 dB, and 5 GHz band rejection of 60 dB.
The QPF7250 requires a DC supply of 5 V and consumes less than 290 mA (Tx) and 15 mA (Rx) of current. It is available in a laminated surface-mount package that measures 3 x 3 mm and is ideal for use in access points, wireless routers, residential gateways, customer premise equipment, and Internet of Things applications.
