The VRFC0127-BD from Viper RF is a C-Band Single-Chip Radar Front End MMIC that operates from 5.2 to 5.6 GHz. This MMIC consists of a low noise amplifier, high power amplifier and a transmit-receive switch. In the Tx mode (pulsed), it delivers a saturated output power of 47 dBm with a small signal gain of 31 dB (@5.4 GHz) and has a PAE of over 40%. In the Rx mode (CW), it has a P1dB of 9 dBm with a small signal gain of 37 dB and has a noise figure of 2.4 dB (@5.4 GHz). The RF ports are DC blocked and matched to 50 ohms. This Radar Front End chips is available as a 100 µm thick die that measures 5.89 x 6.7 mm. It is ideal for satellite communications applications and has been designed on a European space-qualified process.
