The 694XA from Orbital Research is a Low-Noise Block (LNB) that converts input frequencies from 17.2 – 21.2 GHz to output frequencies from 950 – 2000 MHz. It includes a local oscillator (LO) from 16.35 to 20.25 GHz with an LO leakage of -45 dBm. This LNB has a bandwidth of up to 1 GHz, provides a gain of 60 dB, and has an insertion loss of less than 1.4 dB. It requires a DC supply from 12 to 24 V and consumes 300 mA of current. The LNB is used in ARSTRAT-certified terminals and complies with MIL-STD-188-164a and MIL-STD-810H. It is designed for commercial and military SATCOM applications where a single Ka-band frequency is required.
The 694XA is available in a module that measures 103 x 44 x 44 mm with a WR-42 input interface and F-type/N-type/SMA output connector options. It is well-suited for mobile satellite communication and SATCOM-on-the-Move (SOTM) applications where vibration is a concern and has rear anchor posts for mounting flexibility. This LNB is available with an option for external isolators to improve input VSWR performance. It also has an option for sealed and airborne versions for in-flight connectivity.
