The VSX3726 from Communications & Power Industries is a Solid-State Power Amplifier that operates from 8.9 to 9 GHz in the X-Band. It delivers a saturated output power of 2 kW, has a pulse width from 1 to 100 µs and a maximum duty cycle of 5%. The SSPA utilizes GaN transistors to provide high gain, high efficiency and excellent pulse fidelity providing excellent AM/PM, phase-noise and spectral re-growth. It is available in a 19-inch rack-mount/benchtop enclosure with SMA-female input connectors and a WR90 waveguide interface at the output. The amplifier has been optimized for pulse radars and can be used in airborne radars and for TWTA replacements.
