The SHF C653 A from SHF Communication Technologies is a 70 GHz Limiting Amplifier that supports data rates up to 120 Gbps. It has an input voltage range from 150 to 850 mV (peak-to-peak), provides an output voltage of up to 700 mV and has a small signal gain of 25 dB. For input signals more than 150 mV the output voltage will be clipped to 600 mV. The AC-coupled differential inputs can be driven single-ended by terminating the unused input. It requires a DC supply from 4.8 to 5.2 V and consumes less than 300 mA of current. This limiting amplifier can be remotely controlled using an easy-to-use software package SHF control center (SCC) and allows the amplitude, crossing, output signal speed, and RF output state (ON/OFF) to be set and displayed in the GUI.
The SHF C653 A is available in a module that measures 51 x 40 x 23.5 mm with 1.85 mm (female) connectors and is ideal for 100 GbE, 200 GbE, 400 GbE, and 1TbE system evaluation and development, broadband test and measurement equipment, and telecom transmission applications.
