The R&S®MXO 5 Series from Rohde & Schwarz are Oscilloscopes that are available in four and eight-channel models. They have bandwidth options of 100 MHz, 200 MHz, 350 MHz, 500 MHz, 1 GHz, and 2 GHz. These oscilloscopes have two MXO-EP (extreme performance) Rohde & Schwarz application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) to perform 4.5 million acquisitions per second and 18 million waveforms per second across multiple channels. They have digital triggering on all channels and can perform 45,000 FFTs per second to provide excellent spectrum signal viewing, particularly for EMI and harmonic testing. They capture up to 99% of real-time signal activity with a fast acquisition capture rate to speed up signal analysis while detecting rare and random events missed. These oscilloscopes deliver fast and precise spectrum analysis and the ability to run up to four analyses simultaneously.
The R&S MXO 5 Series of oscilloscopes have a standard simultaneous acquisition memory of 500 Mpoints across all eight channels which can be used for extensive data capture. They also have the option for memory extension to double the recording length to 1 Gpoints for the more demanding applications. The digital triggers of these oscilloscopes have a sensitivity of 0.0001 div, which helps precisely isolate small physical layer anomalies, even when large signals are present. They have low-noise signal paths with 12-bit ADCs in each input channel with no sample rate limitations and the high-definition mode (HD) enhances the vertical resolution to 18-bit. The HD mode utilizes a moving average filter to remove aliasing and then feeds the HD samples into the triggering system, resulting in high-resolution, low-noise signals that enable precise triggering.
These oscilloscopes support power sequencing and integrity, automotive analysis and signal integrity and debugging. They have a sensitivity down to 500 μV/div without any unexpected reductions in bandwidth. The R&S MXO 5 series oscilloscopes have a 15.6" full-HD capacitive touchscreen (with gesture support) and an intuitive user interface. They include USB 3.0 ports, USB and HDMI interfaces and can be remotely controlled and view the display on a PC or mobile device. With an option for VESA mounting, they free up space on lab benches and engineering workspace. These oscilloscopes support removable M.2 memory cards to protect instrument information in a secure laboratory environment.
The R&S MXO 5 series oscilloscopes are available in enclosures that measure 445 x 314 x 153 mm with BNC input connectors. Various upgrade options are available to users with demanding application needs, such as 16 digital channels with a mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO) option, an integrated dual-channel 100 MHz arbitrary generator, protocol decode and triggering options for industry-standard buses, and a frequency response analyzer to enhance the capabilities of the instrument. They require an AC supply from 100 to 240 V and consume less than 4 A of current.
