The A121 from Acconeer is a 60 GHz Pulsed Coherent Radar Sensor. It delivers an EIRP of 11 dBm and has a half-power beamwidth (HPBW) of 65° (horizontal) and 53° (elevation). This radar sensor has an absolute measurement range of up to 20 m including water level measurements up to 20 meters with lens utilization and human presence detection up to 7 meters with lens-free utilization. It supports continuous and single sweep modes and can recognize movement and gestures for several objects. This radar sensor has an integrated baseband, RF front-end, and antenna in a package. It requires a DC supply of 1.8 V and consumes less than 100 mA of current.

The A121 can be controlled via an SPI interface. It is available in an FCCSP package that measures 5.5 x 5.2 x 0.88 mm and is ideal for high precision distance measurements with mm accuracy and high update rate, and proximity detection with high accuracy. It is also suitable for defining multiple proximity zones, presence detection along with velocity measurements, material detection and classification, and high-precision object tracking that enables robot navigation, gesture control, and monitoring applications for vital life signs such as breathing and pulse rate.
