The Lab-Flex® Q Family is a range of consistent and robust cable assemblies that operate up to 40 GHz. These assemblies use very low loss ePTFE insulation, and constructed with materials which meet the outgassing requirements of NASA/ESA when tested per ASTM E595. The outer jackets use an ETFE material for maximum (> 100MRad) radiation resistance. These cables can handle average power up to 1800 W and are available in powered designs to meet multipaction requirements. One advantage of using Lab-Flex® Q cables is the consistant and robust cable to connector termination utilizing solder sleeves. The assembly process including soldering is performed in a controlled environment. Their test facility is equipped with a real-time radiographic (X-ray) machine for solder joint verification.
