The ISP2053-AX from Insight SiP is a Bluetooth LE 5.2 Module that supports Mesh, NFC, Thread and Zigbee, IEEE 802.15.4, and ANT wireless protocols. It delivers a data rate of up to 2 Mbps and has a range of 450 m with a Tx power of 8 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of up to -104 dBm. This module is based on an nRF5340 Nordic Semiconductor wireless SoC with two Arm Cortex-M33 processors - an application processor and a network processor. The application processor has 1 MB Flash and 512 KB RAM, and the network processor has 256 KB Flash and 64 KB RAM optimized for low power. It has integrated decoupling capacitors, 32 MHz and 32.768 kHz crystals, load capacitors, DC-DC converters, and an RF matching circuit.
The ISP2053-AX supports all Bluetooth protocols like BLE Audio, Direction Finding, high-throughput 2 Mbps, Advertising Extensions and Long Range along with Angle-of-arrival (AoA) and angle-of-departure (AoD) roles. It can be controlled via USB, QSPI, SPI, UART, I²S, PDM, and PWM interfaces. The module requires a DC supply of 1.7-5.5 V, consumes under 5.8 mA of current in Tx mode and 2.7 mA of current in Rx mode. It has ultra-low power consumption and advanced power management features that enable battery lifetimes up to several years on a coin cell battery.
The module is available in a compact package that measures 8 x 8 x 1 mm with an antenna interface and is ideal for LE Audio, professional lighting, industrial, advanced wearables, medical, smart home, asset tracking, and RTLS applications.
