The PAN9019A from Panasonic Corporation is a 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.2 + 802.15.4 Combo Module. It has been designed to allow easy integration of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2 (low-energy and long-range), and 802.15.4-based technologies into various electronic devices. This module consists of NXP’s IW612 WLAN 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio SoC, a dual-core CPU, a Bluetooth radio, an 802.15.4 radio, a 40 MHz crystal, an SPDT switch, a diplexer, and high-speed data interfaces. It supports 802.11e quality of service for multimedia applications and IEEE 802.11ax, 1x1 spatial stream with data rates of up to 600 Mbps.
The PAN9019A delivers an output power of 18 dBm (802.11b) and data rates of up to 54 Mbps (802.11g/a) on the Tx side. It has a receive sensitivity of -98 dBm (802.11b) and an error vector magnitude (EVM) of less than 35% (802.11b). This combo module utilizes OFDMA and multi-user MIMO techniques on both the uplink and downlink to improve the efficiency in large networks, while the 1024-QAM modulation allows for high data rates. It contains pre-stored Tx power calibration data and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/802.15.4 system parameters in the one-time-programmable memory during production, thereby resulting in reduced design, test, and calibration effort.
The PAN9019A introduces a new target wake time (TWT) feature, which lowers the power consumption of devices for high energy efficiency. It is equipped with SDIO, UART, SPI, COEX, GPIO, and I2S interfaces for connection with a host processor along with OS driver support for RTOS, Linux, and Android. This module requires a DC supply of 1.8 V and 3.3 V. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 15.3 x 12.0 x 2.5 mm and can operate over a temperature range from-40°C to +85°C.
