The PAN1770 from Panasonic is a Bluetooth 5.1 Low Energy (LE) Module. This module is based on the Nordic nRF52840 single-chip controller that features an ARM Cortex-M4F with 64 MHz, embedded 1 MB flash memory, and 256 kB internal RAM. It has a built-in temperature sensor, security features from the ARM TrustZone CryptoCell 310 security subsystem, and supports secure boot including Root of Trust (RoT). The module has a channel selection algorithm (CSA#2) that improves performance in high-interference environments. It also supports Type 2 Near Field Communication (NFC-A) for use in simplified pairing and payment solutions.
The PAN1770 supports 2 Mbps high-speed PHY, LE long-range coded PHY, LE advertising extension, LE secure connections, and Bluetooth mesh profile stack. It provides a Tx power of 8 dBm and has Rx sensitivity of up to -103 dBm. The module requires a DC supply from 1.7 to 5.5 V and consumes 4.8 mA of current in Tx/Rx mode and 0.4 μA of current in system OFF mode. It can be controlled via USB 2.0, GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, and ADC interfaces. The module measures 8.70 x 15.60 x 2.05 mm and has a U.FL connector for an external antenna.
