The Model 3863 from Spectra Lab is an RF Record and Playback Instrument that can capture and reproduce RF signals from 30 MHz to 26.5 GHz. It features two RF channels that enable the simultaneous recording and playback of two RF input/output channels. This instrument has an instantaneous bandwidth (IBW) of 1 GHz and supports 1 GHz/channel continuous IQ streaming & 2 GHz/channel short-duration IQ capture/generation.
The Model 3863 captures every single pulse and transient signal with the highest fidelity and dynamic range, including all signals, noise, interference, and jamming and stores them in a memory of 30.4 TB. It can immediately show recordings on the screen to check the quality of the signals captured and allows easy sharing of recordings with multiple options for high-speed data export and offload. This system allows the configuration of two channels to be time-aligned, phase-coherent, or fully phase-aligned for analyzing interactions between signals in different parts of the spectrum or observing RADAR stimulus-response scenarios.
The system requires an AC supply of 120 V and can be controlled via RS-232 on DB9, Thunderbolt 3, Type C, IEEE-488 GPIB and mini-GPIB interfaces. It has N-type female SMA and other connector options for RF input/output. This record and playback system is ideal for response observation of RADAR signals, Electronic Warfare (EW) signal characterization, academic research & collaboration, SATCOM and radio astronomy applications.
