The UD Box 5G from thinkRF is an RF Up/Downconverter with an RF frequency from 24 to 44 GHz and an IF frequency from 0.01 to 14 GHz. It has an adjustable LO frequency from 24 to 44 GHz and a conversion loss of 12 dB. This converter provides an IF to RF isolation of 70 dB (with filter) and an RF to IF isolation of more than 18 dB (with filter). It works with third-party test equipment, RF spectrum analyzers, software-defined radios, and interfaces. The converter can easily upgrade most of the sub-6 GHz instruments and make them an ideal component for 5G production testing. It requires a DC supply of 15 V and consumes less than 16.8 W of power.
The UD Box 5G can be controlled using SCPI commands over Ethernet and all the functions of the UD Box 5G can easily be controlled using a few simple commands. It includes 10 MHz output clock references to support clock synchronization with external modules. It also supports the synchronization of multiple UD Box 5Gs using the built-in 100 MHz synchronization feature. This up/downconverter is available in an enclosure that measures 143 x 152 x 65 mm with 2.4 mm connectors and is an ideal 5G-NR development tool for wireless equipment OEMs, telecom carriers, and baseband researchers.
