The THEO-P1 from u-blox is an embedded, automotive grade V2X transceiver module that operates at 5.9 GHz. This 802.11p module includes an integrated MAC/LLC/Baseband processor and the required RF front-end components. It has a communication range of more than 1 km and is connected to a host processor through a USB interface. The module can be used for applications such as traffic safety, intelligent traffic management and entertainment. It provides better performance in comparison with V2X systems based on consumer grade Wi-Fi chipsets (COTS), especially at high vehicle speeds and in non-line-of-sight conditions. The THEO-P1 is compliant with WAVE and ETSI ITS G5 for US and Europe operation.
