The OceanTRx 7 from Orbit Communication Systems is a Multiband Stabilized Maritime VSAT System that operates from 5.85 to 31 GHz (Tx) and 3.4 to 21.2 GHz (Rx). It has a dual offset Gregorian antenna type with an antenna size of 2.2 m. This VSAT consists of electronically switchable C/Ka and Ku/Ka multiband terminals to provide customers with unprecedented flexibility, enabling hybrid GSO and MEO/LEO interoperability. It offers industry-leading tracking accuracy that translates into high margins and throughput and the terminals integrate easily with existing on-board systems and networks. This terminal has been designed to serve large cruise ships, meeting the most demanding mission and business-critical service requirements.
The OceanTRx 7 supports both single and multiband configurations in a small footprint and lightweight package, expanding the range of vessels and locations for installation while offering outstanding compliance and support for multiple swappable RF chains. It takes up to 40% less deck space than industry-standard 2.4 m and 3.8 m systems and is more than 30% lighter than competitive solutions. This VSAT system comes with an intuitive, user-friendly interface via the antenna control unit for total management of system operations. It facilitates reconfiguration, upgrades, and field maintenance, without the need for additional modifications or re-balancing, while offering advanced monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting capabilities.
This linearly/circularly-polarized (electrically switchable) VSAT terminal has a dynamic accuracy of 0.25 dB and delivers an EIRP of 64 dBW. It supports single--, dual- and triple-antenna architecture and can accommodate multiple BUCs per system for greater band-switching flexibility. The OceanTRx 7 has undergone shock, vibration, temperature, and humidity test procedures to ensure safety and reliability during operation and is ideal for severe marine environment applications.
