The ULV MicroVSAT from Ultra is a Multi-Bearer, Multi-Frequency Manpack Terminal that operates in the X, Ku, and Ka-Band from 7.9-31.0 GHz (Tx) and 7.25-21.2 GHz (Rx). It is designed to meet the most stringent size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements and delivers enhanced performance in terms of size, weight, and speed of deployment on multi-band, multi-bearer networks. This VSAT terminal utilizes an offset Gregorian antenna, which provides excellent efficiencies and performance. It has high EIRP spectral density that allows maximum EIRP towards the satellite, enabling high data rates. The terminal is more compact than a traditional center-fed 0.65 m parabolic antenna while providing transportability for multiple bearers. It is certified by multiple bearers such as WGS, Intelsat Flex, Inmarsat GX, and Avanti.
This ULV MicroVSAT can bypass or eliminate the use of an internal modem and can connect to an external modem, offering modem-agnostic capabilities. It incorporates a simple pointing system that uses a highly intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) to assist in pointing the antenna towards the chosen satellite. This terminal includes an embedded control board to manage all terminal functions and allows external control and monitoring via Ethernet interface. It does not require separate tools, enabling rapid deployment in the field in less than five minutes and has RF cartridges, that can also be swapped in minutes.
The LHCP/RHCP-polarized ULV MicroVSAT has an elevation beamwidth from 0° to 90° and an azimuth beamwidth of 360°. It has a G/T ratio of 16.5 dB/K and provides an EIRP of 57.7 dBW. It requires a DC supply from 18 to 36 V (DC) and an AC supply from 90 to 264 V (optional mains adapter) with an optional external battery and consumes less than 280 W of power. This IP65-rated VSAT terminal has undergone humidity, shock, altitude, and vibration tests according to MIL-STD-810G standard, making it suitable for a variety of operations such as storage, transportation, and field operations.
