The DSS-9800-KA from Atlantic Microwave is a Ka-band Payload Satellite Simulator with an input frequency from 27.5 to 31 GHz and an output frequency from 17.7 to 21.2 GHz. It has an LO frequency of 9.8 GHz and an LO stability of +/-1 ppm. This satellite simulator has a right-hand circular polarized antenna with a 3 dB beamwidth of 30°. It has a conversion gain of 35 dB and an Rx/Tx antenna gain of 15 dB. The satellite simulator has a phase noise of -105 dBc/Hz (at 1 MHz offset), a signal-related spurious of -25 dBc, LO-related spurious/harmonics of -30 dBm and a non-signal or LO-related spurious of -60 dBm. This satellite simulator requires a DC supply of 24 V and consumes 380 mA of current. It is available in an IP65-rated weatherproof rugged housing that measures 187 x 118 x 82 mm and is ideal for SATCOM on-the-move testing, drone mounting, UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle), and HAP (high altitude platform) applications.
