The AP5002A from Keysight Technologies is a Portable Analog Signal Generator that operates from 9 kHz to 12/20/26 GHz. It is designed to accelerate the testing and characterization of electronic or wireless modules either on-site or where the devices are located. This compact signal generator delivers an output power from -120 dBm to +23 dBm and has a frequency step size of 0.001 Hz. It leverages a range of modulation techniques such as AM, FM, PM, pulse modulation, pulse train, and frequency chirps and uses a built-in OCXO to accurately measure the signals. This signal generator has spurious levels of -80 dBc and a phase noise of -104 dBc/Hz (at 20 kHz offset).
The AP5002A provides an optimized user interface using an LCD touchscreen and built-in remote desktop software. This analog signal generator can be controlled via USB and LAN interfaces. It requires a DC supply of 6.25 V, an AC supply from 100 to 240 V, and consumes less than 20 W of power. This signal generator is available in a benchtop enclosure that measures 6.83 x 10.30 x 4.60 inches and has an SMA (female) connector at the output and BNC (female) connectors at the trigger & reference ports.
