The SynthUSB3 from Windfreak Technologies is a thumb drive sized RF Signal Generator that operates from 12.5 MHz to 6.4 GHz. It provides an output power of up to 8 dBm with an amplitude resolution of 0.2 dB. This USB powered generator has a phase noise of -115 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz@10 kHz offset and supports FM, AM, and pulse modulation techniques.
The signal generator is software tunable and can be controlled via USB / UART interfaces and has nonvolatile on-board flash memory so that it can be used to program itself on any frequency, power, sweep, or modulation setting to run without a PC in the field. It is available in a plastic case that measures 2 x 1 x 0.5 inches with a USB plug connector and is ideal for wireless communications systems, RF and microwave radios, software-defined radio (SDR), radar, automated test equipment (ATE), EMC - radiated immunity pre-compliance testing, EW and law enforcement, quantum computing and device research, plasma physics, and medical research and treatment applications.
