The RC-8SPDT-A40 from Mini-Circuits is a Millimeter Wave Absorptive Switch Matrix that operates from DC to 40 GHz. It houses 8 independently controlled, electro-mechanical SPDT switches with each switch having a failsafe and break-before-make-configuration. These switches offer high reliability with a minimum lifetime of 2 million switching cycles per switch when used within the specified limits. It has a switching time of 25 ms and provides an isolation of more than 50 dB. The switch matrix can handle an input power of up to 20 W and has an insertion loss of less than 1.1 dB. It requires a DC supply of 24 V and consumes less than 1.8 A of current.
The RC-8SPDT-A40 can be controlled via USB or Ethernet which allows the control operation directly from a PC or remotely over a network. It provides full software support which includes a user-friendly GUI application for Windows and a full API with programming instructions for Windows and Linux environments. This switch matrix is available in a rugged metal case that measures 4.50 x 12.00 x 2.25 inches with 2.92 mm (female) connectors and is ideal for 5G node/device testing, automated test equipment and fail-safe/redundancy switching applications.
