The MM5140 from Menlo Micro is a MEMS SP4T Switch that operates from DC to 8 GHz. It can handle a CW input power of 25 W and a peak input power of 150 W. The switch has a turn-on time of 8.5 µs and a turn-off time of 2.5 µs. It has an insertion loss of 0.4 dB and provides isolation of more than 26 dB. This switch is built on Menlo Micro's Ideal Switch technology and utilizes an integrated charge pump/driver circuit. The Ideal Switch offers the power handling and RF performance of an EM relay with the size, weight, reliability, and speed of a solid-state. It requires a DC supply of 3.6 V and consumes less than 1 mA of current.
This MM5140 is available in a surface mount Land Grid Array (LGA) package that measures 5.2 x 4.2 mm and has SPI and GPIO interface controls for host device interfacing. It is ideal for use in switched filter banks and tunable filters, high power RF front-ends, low-loss switch matrices, RF EM relay replacement, antenna tuning, antenna beam steering, and digital step attenuators.
