The EM9305 from EM Microelectronic is an Ultra-Low Power Bluetooth 5.4 Systems-on-Chip (SoC). It has a highly flexible architecture that allows this SoC to act as a companion IC to any ASIC or MCU-based product. This SOC features a state-of-the-art 2.4 GHz transceiver, a low-power receiver with excellent sensitivity/selectivity, and a programmable transmitter up to +10 dBm for optimized output power and current consumption. It supports all Bluetooth 5.4 features including High Data Rate (HDR) and Long Range (LR) communication along with Angle-of-Arrival (AOA) and Angle-of-Departure (AOD) for localization applications. It also supports isochronous channels for BLE LE audio applications.
This chip features a 32-bit RAC processor, a 64 kB ROM for secure boot, 512 kB flash memory for multi-protocol applications, and 64 kB data/instruction RAM, all retainable starting from 4 kB. The EM9305 includes a sophisticated on-chip power management system supporting 1.5 V or 3 V batteries and can be directly powered from an attached 5 V USB port. It features Bluetooth 5.4 link layer, Host Controller Interface (HCI), stack, profiles and services, and firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updating capability using the included software. This SoC is available in two package options: QFN-28 which measures 4 x 4 mm and WLCSP23 which measures 1.8 x 1.8 mm. It is ideal for use in Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) applications like beacons, positioning, wearables and sports equipment, healthcare monitoring and remote sensing.
