The GR5405 from Goodix is a Bluetooth LE 5.3 SoC that is compliant with the AEC-Q100 Grade 2 standard for various automotive applications. It supports Bluetooth LE data rates of 1 Mbps, 2 Mbps, and Long Range (500 kbps, 125 kbps). This SoC delivers a Tx power of up to 15 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of -99 dBm with a link budget of up to 114 dB.
The GR5405 is based on a 64 MHz Arm Cortex-M4F 32-bit CPU core and integrates a 2.4 GHz RF transceiver, Bluetooth LE 5.3 protocol stack, 512 KB on-chip Flash memory & 96 KB system SRAM. It has a built-in Memory Protection Unit (MPU) supporting eight programmable regions, a Nested Vectored Interrupt Controller (NVIC) and a hardware Floating Point Unit (FPU). This SoC has a 13-bit Sense ADC with a sampling rate of 1 Msps and a built-in die temperature & voltage sensor. It has a secure computing engine with an AES 128-bit security module (ECB, CBC) and a true random number generator (TRNG).
This SoC requires a DC supply of 2.7-3.6 V and can be controlled via UART, SPI, I2C, PWM and GPIO interfaces. It is available in a wettable flank-plated QFN40 package that measures 6.0 x 6.0 x 0.75 mm. The Bluetooth SoC is ideal for automotive applications such as digital car keys, tire pressure monitoring, automotive battery pack monitoring, and wireless connection in smart cockpits.
