The nRF54L15 from Nordic Semiconductor is a Multiprotocol Bluetooth 5.4 Systems-on-Chip (SoC) with support for Bluetooth (LE) Low Energy, Bluetooth mesh, Thread, and Matter protocols. It has a 128 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor, 1.5 MB non-volatile memory, and 256 KB RAM. This SoC also has a Global RTC (real-time clock) peripheral, 14-bit ADC, and a software-defined peripheral enabled by a RISC-V coprocessor. It is designed for PSA-certified Level-3 IoT security standards and offers security services such as Secure Boot, Secure Firmware Update, Secure Storage, TrustZone isolation, and side-channel protection. This SoC has integrated tamper sensors that can detect attacks and take appropriate action, while the cryptographic accelerators are hardened against side-channel attacks.
The nRF54L15 provides a Tx power of up to 8 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of -98 dBm. It delivers a data rate of 1 Mbps in Bluetooth (LE) mode and also includes a new 4 Mbps data rate option for 2.4 GHz proprietary protocols, with improved throughput, efficiency, and latency. This SoC is available in a QFN package that measures 6 x 6 mm or a WLCSP package that measures 2.4 x 2.2 mm and requires a DC supply of 1.8 V. It is ideal for use in PC accessories, gaming controllers, and remotes, virtual reality and augmented reality, smart home and Matter, medical devices and industrial IoT applications.
