Linx Technologies, a developer and manufacturer of antennas, has introduced three new Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) antennas supporting GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS navigation systems. The ceramic patch antennas are available in surface-mount and through-hole pin options over three sizes, allowing engineers to balance size, performance, manufacturability, and cost in their systems.
GNSS is an integral function to the Internet of Things which often sees devices serving in harsh environments. Linx chose to expand its GNSS antenna portfolio with high-temperature antennas suitable for everything from hot cars to asset tracking on a sun-baked construction site.
The three new GNSS antennas are the surface-mount 12 mm x 12 mm ANT-GNSSCP-SM12L1 and two adhesive-mount, through-hole pin antennas, the 18 mm x 18 mm ANT-GNSSCP-TH18L1 and the 25 mm x 25 mm ANT-GNSSCP-TH25L1. All are 4 mm thick and employ right-hand circular polarization (RHCP) for optimal satellite reception looking skyward. Additionally, all three antennas support high-temperature operation, to +105 ˚C, supporting qualification in automotive systems requiring AEC-Q200 reliability.
