Keysight Technologies announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KT Corporation on May 20 at the KT R&D Center in Korea. The two companies will collaborate on 5G wireless communications and other related areas of interest. Both companies will strengthen mutual cooperation to open the new era of wireless communication through the MOU on 5G technology development using their leading-edge wireless technologies.
KT Corporation is one of the leading wireless communications service providers in Korea. Becoming a government-funded corporation in 1997, KT changed its business portfolio by focusing on wireless and internet services instead of fixed lines. They are now a national company that provides the fastest and most innovative ICT-based telecommunications and convergence services.
“We’ve signed the MOU with Keysight to lead the way in the global 5G market, develop future 5G infrastructures, and test relevant technologies,” said Hong-Beom Jeon, senior vice president of Infrastructure Lab, Institute of Convergence Technology, KT. “Combining Keysight’s test and measurement technology with KT’s telecommunication technology can accelerate 5G development. In particular, we’re expecting to reap successful results in the area of millimeter wave, one of the key enabling technologies of 5G for the transmission of wireless data through very wide bandwidth.”
“I’m glad that we have the opportunity to use our advanced 5G solutions together with KT, the leading telecommunication service provider in Korea,” said Duk-Kwon Yoon, Keysight Korea country general manager and president. “I’m confident that our 5G technologies, together with KT, can help the development of Korea’s wireless telecommunication technologies.”
