Anritsu and Bluetest Collaborate on Advanced MIMO Over-the-Air Testing for Wi-Fi 7 Devices

Anritsu Corporation and Bluetest have joined forces to deliver a cutting-edge Over-the-Air (OTA) measurement solution for verifying the RF performance of Wi-Fi 7 devices (IEEE 802.11be) in a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) environment. This collaboration introduces an enhanced test setup that supports the latest tri-frequency WLAN standard, enabling precise measurement of transmit power and receiver sensitivity on devices operating in the 2x2 MIMO environment.

Advancing Wi-Fi 7 Performance Testing

The new OTA test system, developed through product upgrades from both companies, allows for efficient testing of high-performance devices such as smartphones, AR/VR gear, and cloud gaming platforms. By enabling seamless measurement of Total Radiated Power (TRP) and Total Isotropic Sensitivity (TIS), manufacturers can ensure their devices deliver faster data transmission speeds and lower latency—key elements for enhancing user experiences.

The 2x2 MIMO OTA test solution simulates real-world network conditions, providing a highly repeatable environment for evaluating device performance, particularly in demanding use cases such as gaming and immersive AR/VR experiences.

Bluetest Product Manager Klas Arvidsson highlighted the decade-long partnership with Anritsu, emphasizing the synergy between Bluetest’s expertise in OTA testing and Anritsu’s latest Wi-Fi test solutions. He described the collaboration as an essential step toward meeting the industry’s growing demand for reliable and efficient testing environments for next-gen wireless devices.

Keita Masuhara, Product Manager at Anritsu, echoed these sentiments, noting the importance of this collaboration in supporting the growing market for IEEE 802.11be devices. With the increasing complexity of Wi-Fi 7’s tri-frequency band operation, the combined solution from Anritsu and Bluetest will help drive innovation and performance in the wireless industry.

Technical Innovation: Anritsu and Bluetest’s Joint Test System

Bluetest’s OTA Reverberation Test System, designed for wireless devices of various types and sizes, works in conjunction with Anritsu’s Wireless Connectivity Test Set MT8862A, which supports testing across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands. With a bandwidth of up to 320 MHz, the joint solution ensures stable connections and highly efficient 2x2 MIMO OTA testing.
