Anritsu Enhances its Wireless Test Set to Support the Bluetooth 5 Core Specification

Anritsu has introduced new software packages for its Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A that supports the most recent 2 Mbps Bluetooth Low Energy PHY (2LE) and Bluetooth Long Range (BLR) functionality in the Bluetooth 5 Core Specification. With this software update, the MT8870A now provides manufacturing engineers with an efficient solution to verify smartphones, IoT devices and other products designed with Bluetooth technology to lower test costs and improve time-to-market.

With the software update, the Wireless Test Set can now conduct all RF 2LE and BLR tests required by the Bluetooth 5 specification. It creates a fast and simple test environment to measure Basic Rate, Enhanced Data Rate (EDR), Bluetooth 2LE, Bluetooth Audio power, frequency, modulation accuracy, and Rx sensitivity parameters necessary to ensure products are compliant.

The MT8870A Universal Test Set is a multiplatform solution for testing various communications methods, including cellular, connectivity, GPS, and FM, on production lines. Up to four high-performance test units can be installed in one main frame and each unit can measure test parameters independently, in parallel, offering an effective method for improving production-line efficiency. The MT8870A can be easily upgraded to support the latest standards beyond the present Bluetooth 5 specification.
