Blu Wireless Technology has now joined the Telecom Infrastructure Project (TIP) as member of the recently established mmWave working group. The mmWave working group is tasked with advancing networking solutions that use the 60 GHz frequency band and address challenges in the wireless backhaul domain.
TIP is an engineering focused initiative co-chaired by Facebook and Deutsche Telekom, intended to bring together expertise from pioneering technology companies that will help transform traditional telecom ecosystems by deploying new technologies and agile architectures.
Blu Wireless Technology’s involvement in TIP will help to ensure that this high-profile, innovative group has access to advanced mmWave communications technology for demanding bandwidth requirements for applications such as smart-city sensors, augmented reality, 4K video streaming etc. The company has already showcased its fully functioning fixed wireless access solution at 60 GHz that delivers best in class performance in a wireless mesh network configuration.
