The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Science & Technology Directorate, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and Office of the Secretary of Defense have joined the DC5G 2019 conference program. The agencies will present their plans to address future 5G innovations and cyber-supply chain security challenges for the U.S. Department of Defense and federal civilian agencies.
The US Department of Homeland Security will also be represented by Sridhar Kowdley, the Program Manager for DHS’s Science and Technology Directorate, during the “5G Case Studies: Public Health & Safety” session to highlight how the department is changing the conversation on how security operators can utilize 5G enabled technologies.
The DC5G conference is an opportunity for all to learn how DHS S&T is working holistically across public and private sectors and with the federal government to ensure 5G end-users have the appropriate tools and security capabilities for leveraging the 5G technology. With the rise of smart and connected technologies, attendees will learn how DHS is thinking differently about technology applications, regional and local experimentations, and innovative research and development (R&D) practices. DHS S&T will also host an exhibit table where they will be available to explain their R&D impacts and priorities, business tools, and how they’re investing in R&D to secure the nation.
Representatives from T-Mobile, Smart Cities Council, Harvard University, CTIA, Illinois Dept. of Transportation, City of San Jose, Wells Fargo, Sprint, Brigham, Women's Hospital Inc. and many more will also be joining the DC5G program.
