The F9650A from Keysight Technologies is an Over-The-Air (OTA) Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) Measurement Chamber that is designed to characterize wireless and antenna system performance of devices at millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequencies. It can be used to evaluate RF device performance from 6 to 110 GHz. This chamber provides over 75 dB of isolation to protect the device from external electromagnetic interference and other electrical disturbances. It is a shielded anechoic chamber with an integrated rolled-edge reflector and has a roll-over-azimuth positioner that provides a roll range of ±180° and an azimuth range of ±165° for the Device Under Test (DUT). The positioner integrated with this chamber provides a roll/azimuth resolution of 0.01° and an accuracy of 0.1°.
The F9650A provides a Quiet Zone with a diameter of 30 cm for the 5G FR2 bands, has a path loss of 64.4 dB, and a phase variation of 17° (at 39 GHz). It connects controllers for feed as well as DUT positioners with triggered data acquisition capability with additional probe feed options for in-band and spurious test frequency ranges. This CATR chamber offers optional calibration kits to conduct in-band and spurious measurements along with RCal receiver calibrator. It utilizes a DUT temperature enclosure kit and a temperature control unit that allows for extreme temperature condition (ETC) testing.
This CATR measurement chamber includes various optional software tools to provide OTA chamber control, OTA 2D/3D plot viewer, OTA VNA control, OTA signal analyzer control, and OTA temperature control, thereby allowing programmability over a wide parameter test range. It measures 2.8 x 1.6 x 2.0 m and is ideal for RF ETC testing, RF carrier acceptance test, design verification test, RF in-band and spurious conformance test, UE radio resource management (RRM), Angle of Arrival (AoA), UE RF demodulation, and antenna characterization applications.
