The ADAR3000 from Analog Devices is a Ka-band beamformer IC that operates from 17 to 22 GHz. This 4 beam / 16 channel beamforming IC can be configured for transmitting or receiving operations via an SPI interface. It has a programmable time delay and step attenuator for beam steering, internal memory for storing beam positions, a programmable sequencer for quick and efficient beam state selection and an integrated ADC for the temperature sensor and general analog inputs. This Beamformer IC has programmable bias modes and supports features like update, reset & mute beam commands, beam hopping, raster scanning and 16 chip parallel addressability. It is available in a BGA package and is ideal for aerospace and defense applications such as phased array systems, space technology solutions, military communications, missiles and precision munitions.
