The RM500Q-GL from Quectel is a Sub-6 GHz Cellular 5G Module that is optimized for global (except USA) IoT and eMBB applications. It is based on 3GPP Release 15 technology and supports both SA and NSA 5G modes. This module delivers a 5G downlink data rate of up to 2.5 Gbps (NSA) and an uplink data rate of 650 Mbps (NSA). It integrates a GNSS receiver that greatly simplifies the product design and provides quicker, more accurate, and more dependable positioning capability. The module supports 5G NR Sub-6 GHz, 4G LTE-A, 3G UMTS, and GNSS technologies.
The RM500Q-GL is compatible with Quectel LTE-A Cat 6 module, EM06, Cat 12 modules EM12-G/EM120R-GL/EM121R-GL, and Cat 16 module EM160R-GL, thereby facilitating customers’ migration from LTE-A to 5G. It covers nearly all the mainstream carriers worldwide and supports Qualcomm IZat location technology Gen9C Lite (GPS, GLONASS, BDS, and Galileo). This module is equipped with a rich set of internet protocols, serial interfaces such as USB 2.0, USB 3.0, PCIe 3.0, and PCM, and other abundant functionalities (USB and PCIe drivers for Windows 7/8/8.1/10, Linux, and Android).
The RM500Q-GL requires a DC supply of 3.7 V and consumes 4.0 mA of current in sleep mode and 54 mA of current in USB 3.0 idle mode. It is available as an M.2 form factor that measures 30 x 52 mm and is ideal for industrial routers, home gateways, STBs, industrial laptops, consumer laptops industrial PDAs, rugged tablet PC, video surveillance, and digital signage applications.
