The LENA-R8 Series from u-blox AG are LTE Cat 1 Modules that support global LTE FDD, LTE TDD, and 2G bands. They deliver a downlink data rate of 10 Mbit/s and an uplink data rate of 5 Mbit/s. These modules have integrated support for u-blox‘s MQTT Anywhere, MQTT Flex services, AssistNow, and CellLocate services. They are available in 2 variants - Integrated GNSS receiver and antenna variant (LENA-R8001M10) and external GNSS control variant (LENA-R8001). The LENA-R8001M10 variant is based on the u-blox M10 platform and includes a GNSS receiver that supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo constellations. These modules have antenna, SIM & and jamming detection features and support VoLTE/CSFB features.

The LENA-R8 Series modules require a DC supply of 1.8/3.8 V and can be controlled via UART, USB 2.0, I2C, I2S, GPIO, and (U)SIM interfaces. They are available in 100-pin LGA packages that measure 27 x 30 mm and are ideal for use in value-oriented IoT products, targeting the tracking and telematics markets or other applications requiring broad global coverage.
