The UAX-90045-01 from uAvionix Corporation is a Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) Miniature Data Link Radio that operates from 902 to 928 MHz. It has been specifically designed for long range Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Command and Control (C2) data links. This aviation-grade data link radio does not use a dedicated aviation band, thereby making FAA permission-to-transmit requirement unnecessary. It integrates a dual-radio architecture that provides path (spatial) diversity, frequency diversity, and an excellent polarization gain along with an adaptive time and frequency spreading technology that mitigates radio frequency interference. This data link can support hundreds of simultaneous links with its unique spreading technique and uses GPS Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) link synchronization to provide accurate timing results.
The UAX-90045-01 delivers a transmit power of 1 W and has a receiver sensitivity of -118 dBm. This data link connects to an all-weather, network ready microLink Ground Radio System (GRS) at one end and an Ardupilot PixHawk autopilot Airborne Radio System (ARS) at the other end. It supports TCP and UDP transmission protocol and uses transparent serial user data interface. This data link also reports status, integrity, and health monitoring related parameters to the server. It is available in an enclosure that measures 122 x 82 x 55 mm with supports for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and includes dual MMCX antenna connectors.
