The FMCW-06-0003 from Farran Technology is an FMCW Radar Front-End Module (FEM) that operates from 110 to 150 GHz. This FEM is based on a superheterodyne architecture with an integrated bi-static antenna configuration. It combines wide bandwidth and high-resolution performance in a compact modular package and delivers a transmit signal derived from an internal VCO signal, which is internally multiplied. This module also acts as the LO oscillator for the receive mixer to produce an IF signal. 

This FMCW-06-0003 offers an industry-leading noise figure with customizable output power levels. On the Tx side, it delivers an output power of +13.5 dBm, while on the Rx side, it provides a gain of 20 dB and has a noise figure of 8 dB. It can also be custom designed to offer the end user flexibility to integrate with their own swept FMCW source and IF post-processing systems. This FEM requires a DC supply of 6 V and consumes 1600 mA of current. It is available in a module that measures 290 x 105 x 60 mm and has WR-06 UG-387/U waveguide interfaces. This module is ideal for aircraft collision avoidance, critical area surveillance, vehicular collision avoidance, and foreign object detection (FOD), and traffic management applications.
