The BTS7202U from NXP Semiconductors is a Receiver Front-End Module that operates from 3.3 to 4.2 GHz. It includes 2 independent receive channels each with a low noise amplifier (LNA). The gain can be set to two different levels – 36.5 dB (high gain mode) and 19 dB (low gain mode) – with fast switching between the two modes. This FEM is developed and implemented in NXP’s silicon germanium (SiGe) process to offer improved linearity and reduced noise figures to support better 5G signal quality. It has a noise figure of 0.95 dB and each channel has a switch to route high-power TX signals to a termination load. The module is available in an HVQFN40 package that measures 6.00 x 6.00 x 0.85 mm and has ESD protection on all pins. It is ideal for 5G massive MIMO and wireless infrastructure applications.
