The PE565211 from PSemi is an 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 Front-End Module that operates from 5150 to 7150 MHz. It is a high-performance module that enables full and efficient integration by combining intelligent capabilities of pSemi’s patented UltraCMOS technology, an advanced form of Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) technology that offers the performance of GaAs with the economy and integration of conventional CMOS. This module is equipped with a fully-matched bypassable amplifier (LNA), a dual-core power amplifier (PA), two RF switches that include SP3T and SP4T, and a bypass path with RxAux port. It is manufactured on Silicon to minimize valuable PCB layout area, especially for high-density MIMO applications.
The PE565211 maintains maximum linear PA output power to ensure optimal power savings while the low noise figure of LNA improves receive sensitivity and range over a wide variety of conditions. In Tx mode, it provides a gain of 27 dB while in Rx mode, it provides a gain of 13 dB and has a noise figure of 2.3 dB. It consists of a built-in logarithmic power detector and die-level filtering to reject sub-harmonics at 2.4 GHz for DBDC operation. This module requires a DC supply of 3.85 V and consumes 251 mA of current. It is available in a Land Grid Array (LGA) package that measures 2.5 x 2.5 mm and is ideal for nominal to medium power 802.11ax CPE (routers, extenders, access points and gateways), PC cards, PCMCIA cards, mini and half-mini cards, Wi-Fi-enabled video systems, POE, and IoT applications.
