The SKY5-8085-11 from Skyworks is a Mid and High-Band Front-End Module for 3G/4G/5G mobile devices, data cards, M2M, and LTE advanced carrier aggregation applications. It incorporates a separate 3G / 4G / 5G power amplifier blocks operating in the mid and high bands, a silicon controller containing the MIPI RFFE interface, RF band switches, mid and high-band antenna switches, bi-directional couplers, and integrated filters for 1, 2, 3, 7, 34, 39, 40 and 41 bands.
This FEM is designed to meet stringent 5G NR and LTE advanced requirements where wider bandwidth (100 MHz) and carrier aggregation are utilized for higher data rates. It has an intra-brand uplink carrier aggregation of 35 MHz (175 RB) for band 39, 40 MHz (200 RB) for bands 1, 2, 3, 7, 40, 41, and 60 MHz (300 RB) for bands 40 and 41. For the uplink, the PA blocks support very wide bandwidth 5G NR operations up to 60 MHz for n1 and up to 100 MHz for n41 bands. It supports WCDMA, HSPA+, FDD/TDD LTE, technologies and QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM, TD-SCDMA, TD-HSPA, and 256QAM modulation techniques.
This FEM is optimized to provide superior Rx sensitivity / Tx efficiency. The combined filtering, RF matching, and TRx switching make it ideal for downlink (DL) CA band combinations. It is available in a 62-pad LGA which is encapsulated in an SMT plastic package that measures 8.6 x 6.5 x 0.65 mm with two antenna ports that provide the best flexibility to support multiple antenna configurations and swap functions.
