The SKY58101-11 from Skyworks is a Front-End Module that covers 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G bands. It consists of a low-band 3G/4G/5G PA block, low-band and high-band 2G PA blocks, a silicon controller consisting of the MIPI RFFE interface, RF band switches, antenna switches, a bi-directional coupler, integrated filters for Bands 8, 12, 20, 26, 28A, and 29, and low noise amplifier (LNA). This module is part of Skyworks Sky5 product portfolio and is optimized for LTE Advanced which utilizes Carrier Aggregation for higher data rates. It has combined filtering, RF matching and TRx switching that optimizes performance for popular Downlink (DL) CA band combinations. This module contains all the necessary components between the antenna and RFIC transceiver and is optimized to provide exceptional Rx sensitivity and Tx efficiency.
The SKY58101-11 has four auxiliary 3G/4G/5G Tx outputs for external filters and four auxiliary 3G/4G/5G TRx ports to support additional bands. It has Tx filtering for harmonically-related LB-MB downlink CA and is capable of operating as ET (Envelope Tracking). This module supports the linear-GMSK operation standard that disables VRAMP input, so all PA biasing depends only on MIPI mode selection. The transmitted envelope is then a linear function of RF input. It also supports VRAMP-enabled operation where the PA controller provides VRAMP control of the GMSK envelope and reduces sensitivity to input drive, temperature, power supply, and process variations. This module has exceptional RF coexistence planning and system techniques to minimize Rx de-sensitizing ("de-sense").
The SKY58101-11 is available in a SkyShield shielded SMT plastic package that measures 7.6 x 6.0 x 0.75 mm and is ideal for multi-band 2G/3G/4G/5G mobile devices, handsets, data cards, M2M and LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation (CA) applications.
