The SKY58105-31 from Skyworks Solutions is a Front-End Module (FEM) that is designed for 3G, 4G, and 5G mobile devices. This module consists of separate 3G/4G/G power amplifier (PA) blocks operating in mid-bands (MB) and high-bands (HB), a silicon controller with MIPI RFFE interface, RF-band switches, bidirectional couplers, MB/HB antenna switches, and integrated filters for bands 1, 3, 34, 39, 40, and 41. It also meets 5G-NR and LTE Advanced requirements where wider bandwidths (100 MHz) and carrier aggregation (CA) are used for higher data rates. This FEM’s combined filtering, RF matching, and Tx/Rx switching internal to the module optimizes the performance for downlink CA band combinations.
The SKY58105-31 has internally-matched RF I/O ports, thereby minimizing external components. It provides cascade support for bidirectional RF couplers with four low-noise amplifiers’ output ports supporting flexible configuration and swap. This module is available in a low-profile, surface-mount package that measures 8.60 x 6.50 x 0.76 mm and is ideal for multi-band 3G/4G/5G mobile devices, handsets, data cards, M2M, and LTE advanced CA applications.
